World Parkinsons Congress, Part II

NH Advocates Gary and Gayle Gosselin reflect on their trip to Phoenix

Gary Gosselin of Alton, NH traveled to the World Parkinsons Congress to deliver a poster session on his inspirational Resolve wristband.

The global scope and scientific depth of the Congress was overwhelming for first-time attendee Gosselin. But it was the sheer size of the movement that left Gary feeling confident in the future. Here’s a post from Gary’s LinkedIn page:

“One of the biggest moments for me at the World Parkinson Congress was standing in front of this map.

“Pins from all over the world.

‘People living with Parkinson’s.

“Care partners.

“Doctors.

“Researchers.

“Advocates.

‘I may not yet understand most of the science, but I left Congress more optimistic than ever about the future of Parkinson’s.

“Not because of one breakthrough...

“Because of the size of the effort.

“INTENT and Perseverance!”

Gary’s wife, Gayle accompanied Gayle on the trip to Phoenix and she shared these thoughts: 

“Attending the World Parkinson Congress with Gary was both educational and inspiring. As a caregiver, I gained a deeper understanding of Parkinson’s, learned new ways to better support him, and met others who share many of the same experiences. Most importantly, I was reminded that while Parkinson’s brings challenges, it does not define a person. I left feeling more prepared, more hopeful, and encouraged by the strength of the Parkinson’s community and the progress being made toward better treatments and care.”
